Radiobiology applied to oncology - April 3-6, 2013

The «Cancéropôle Grand Sud-Ouest» is glad to announce a workshop "Radiobiology applied to Oncology" dedicated to young scientists working in cancer therapy in Europe. Based on a format initiated by the sister organisation «Cancéropole Grand Ouest» in Berder, the workshop is mainly directed towards PhD Students and Post-Docs working in Europe.

The scientific domains include :
Radiation transport and energy deposition modeling
Bystander effect in radiation oncology
Radiation interactions : primary events

This event will take place in the Pyrénées, in the Valley of Lesponne, from the 3rd to the 6th of April 2013.

The main objective of this workshop is to allow PhD students and Post-Docs from various labs within Europe to present and discuss their work with peers and more senior scientists. This is facilitated by the sponsoring of the Cancéropôle Grand Sud-Ouest that provides travel grants to participating students.

The total attendance is limited to a maximum of 60 persons in order to preserve fruitful exchanges and allow for light infrastructure.
A maximum of 25 grants will be delivered to PhD students and Post-Docs, covering accommodation and a participation to travel expenses up to €300.

Registration will be made on a first served basis + selection of oral presentations. Young scientists willing to benefit from a grant are requested to send an abstract presenting their current research projects and results.

DEAD-LINE is set to February the 28th 2013

Abstract selection will be made upon the scientific quality of proffered abstracts while trying to insure a broad representation of students throughout Europe. Since the number of attendees is limited, an early registration is strongly advised.
